Gender, Empowerment and Human Relations
Overview
Feminine energy is the core of human transformation in this millenium
Dr. Sfeir-Younis’s work on gender, empowerment, and human relations integrates feminist economics, human rights frameworks, and spiritual wisdom to challenge patriarchal systems embedded in development policy. Beginning in 2000 with his analysis of gender dimensions in sustainable development, he demonstrated that economic models ignoring women’s unpaid care work, property rights, and decision-making power perpetuate both poverty and ecological destruction.
His 2002 trilogy on gender equality established foundational frameworks linking women’s rights to effective development. He showed that urban sprawl, development projects, and economic policies disproportionately harm women—not as unfortunate side effect but as structural feature of systems designed without gender consciousness. His concept of “Feminist Economics” goes beyond adding women to existing models; it requires transforming economics itself to value care, relationship, and community.
Through annual International Women’s Day messages, teachings to female environmental activists, and his 2025 work “The Spirituality of Birth,” Dr. Sfeir-Younis articulates a vision where feminine wisdom—connection, nurturing, cyclical understanding—becomes central to planetary healing. His work honors mothers, daughters, and women fighting for environmental justice, recognizing that gender equity and ecological sustainability are inseparable struggles.
