Dr. Sfeir-Younis’s work on the planetary crisis transcends climate science to address what he calls the “inner warming” driving ecological collapse. His 2005 recognition that “Humanity Has Another Option: Making Peace with the Environment” establishes the foundation: our relationship with Earth reflects our inner state—greed, fear, and disconnection manifest as extraction, pollution, and destruction. Healing the planet requires healing ourselves.

Through nearly two decades of increasingly urgent writings—from “Healing the Planet” (2007, 2010) to “We Are On Fire” (2023)—he documents humanity’s accelerating crisis while insisting transformation remains possible.
